Salford Red Devils are offering Bury FC and Bolton Wanderers’ season ticket holders free entry to the club’s two remaining Super League home fixtures.
Both football clubs are in dire financial states with Bury today expelled from the English Football League after 125 years, while Bolton are 14 days away from the same fate.
But in these difficult times, Salford have given both sets of fans free entry to tomorrow’s match against Warrington and their final home game against Hull KR in two weeks.
Supporters of the two North West teams just simply have to bring their season ticket and photo ID to claim their free ticket at the AJ Bell Stadium – with season tickets from the 2018-19 season also accepted.
Salford director Paul King said: “Like so many other clubs in professional sport, we have been saddened by the plights of Bury and Bolton supporters.
“Salford Red Devils fans know better than most, how awful they must be feeling and at a time when they will be in constant worry, we wanted to offer a distraction.
“With a celebrity football match on before our game against Warrington, it seemed like a perfect opportunity to let those fans get together, as they have done so many times before.
“It’s a simple gesture of solidarity on our part.”
The celebrity football match kicks off at 6pm before the crunch Super League fixture at 7.45pm – tickets are now available from the AJ Bell Stadium ticket office.
