Revealed: The real reason behind huge Super League transfer

Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves and Hull KR have confirmed signings for 2024 but Hull FC meanwhile are one of the sides to announce a number of departures.

They have already announced the departure of Brad Dwyer who is expected to replace St Helens bound Daryl Powell at Warrington.

Chris Satae is headed for Catalans Dragons meanwhile the club were forced to announce that Jake Clifford is headed back to the NRL with North Queensland Cowboys.

The club had the most off contract players before the start of the season.

Among those who are off contract include some senior players such as Scott Taylor and Danny Houghton, Taylor having told BBC Humberside recently that he’s happy to take a back seat and allow the club to sort out the contracts of the younger players first.

It’s now been confirmed today that two of those players younger than Taylor are set to leave the side at the end of the season with both Adam Swift and Andre Savelio set to depart the KCOM Stadium.

The club announced the news via their Twitter.

It was accompanied with a statement on the club’s site. It also revealed that Swift is leaving the club to cut down on his commute.

He is expected to join Huddersfield Giants.

The club’s statement said:

“Hull FC can confirm that Adam Swift and Andre Savelio will both depart the club at the end of the 2023 Betfred Super League season.

“Swift, 30, joined the club from Saints ahead of the 2020 campaign, going on to make 59 appearances so far across the last four seasons.

“The winger will leave at the end of the season due to family reasons, returning to live in St Helens following the birth of his second child.

“Meanwhile, 28-year-old Savelio will also depart at the end of the current campaign, having also featured 59 times since arriving at the club from Brisbane Broncos in 2019.

“Everyone at the club would like to thank both Adam and Andre for their efforts in Black & White and we look forward to seeing them represent Hull FC for the remainder of the season.”

The club recruited Herman Ese’ese on Monday and have now been linked with Shawn Blore according to Fox Sports down under, both players that will help their pack and potentially cover the loss of Savelio, but certainly not Swift.
