Revealed: Barbie Movie star Margot Robbie is a huge supporter of this rugby league team

As we have been focused on Leeds Rhinos, St Helens, Hull KR, Leigh Leopards, Halifax Panthers and Batley Bulldogs and their trip to Wembley, the wider world have been captivated by two films.

It was always going to be interesting to see the Barbie film battle against Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and in many ways the two films pushed each other on to amazing Box Office success.

However, what might surprise you is the fact that star of the Barbie film Margot Robbie is a rugby league fan.

In the past the Australian born actress has been spotted at State of Origin supporting Queensland but according to the Daily Telegraph Robbie is a big supporter of the Canterbury Bulldogs.

She’s not been the only famous face to get involved in rugby league lately.

For the first time in a generation, Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves and St Helens were not be in the Challenge Cup Final as Hull KR and Leigh Leopards met in Saturday’s decider.

The last final without these four saw Hull KR lose to Castleford Tigers back in 1986. Hull KR haven’t won a major trophy since 1985 and hadn’t won the Challenge Cup since 1980.

Needing all the support they can get, Grammy Award winning rapper Sean Paul threw his support behind them.

“Well I brought the sun out, I cannot see a reason that we cannot be the Champions from Hull,” he said on Viking Radio.

When asked to send them a good luck message, he said: “Hey yo, Hull KR it is Sean Paul telling you that you are the rugby superstars.

“Yeah man we’re gonna win, we’re going all the way.”

Of course, Leigh have had plenty of star power at games this year so no doubt beloved ban Scouting For Girls who performed at the Leigh Sports Village in Round One as Leigh began this journey under their new name will have been supporting the Leopards.

Hopefully we get more famous fans after the game on Saturday which was a terrific final between two teams who truly deserved to be there and deserved their moment in the sun.
