Reports – Super League’s Easter double-header to be scrapped

League Express have reported that Super League and Championship clubs will play just one match on Easter weekend in 2020.

With concerns over injuries in recent seasons, it appears clubs and players will get their wish in seeing the Easter double-header scrapped.

The annual full fixture schedule on Easter Monday will be no more, although it’s unclear on whether this round will be removed from the 29 regular-season rounds as in 2019.

There is also yet to be an announcement on the venue of the 2020 Magic Weekend, but it is expected that it will take place as usual at the end of May.

Changes to the Challenge Cup dates will see Super League sides enter in round five which will take place in early March.

The next rounds will be played over March and April before the semi-finals in June and the final in July.
