Hull FC managed to salvage a win late on yesterday against London Broncos but it was far from a vintage performance with fans showing lots of discontent.
It was a dramatic game at the MKM Stadium with the visitors London putting on a scare for the home side in the second half.
The pressure was on Hull FC to get their first win of the season and they almost threw the game away when Ligi Sao’s offload was intercepted which allowed Robbie Storey to run the length of the field to score in the 75th minute.
That try had made it 24-22 to London but Hull FC managed to salvage the win through a very late Morgan Smith try to break Broncos hearts.
Danny Houghton spoke post-game and Sky Sports pundit Jon Wells went out of his way to credit Hull FC, however, the home side were still booed off the pitch and fans have since taken to social media to air their discontent.
“It feels like a loss” – Hull FC fans call for action after late win over London Broncos
Hull FC fans can be a hard bunch to please at times but after yesterday’s game they were quick to air their issues with the performance.
Reacting to Morgan Smith’s dart over to score the winner, one fan labelled Hull FC’s endeavours as “one of the worst performances in the Super League era”.
One of the worst performances in the SL era tbf. Rescued by a moment of magic from Morgan. Relief we got 2 points but things need to change and fast.

Another asked for the club not to celebrate the try as they too spoke on the historic low that the game had represented for Hull FC during the Super League era.
Please don’t celebrate this moment, it’s possibly Hull’s lowest ebb in the S era, and there’s been some low ones .

Blame was placed on the heads of Adam Pearson, James Clark and Tony Smith for the lack of quality in the side as one fan labelled it a “mid-table Championship game”.
This was a championship game. Mid table championship game. Miss management of the club for years is clear to see. The players are giving it their all. But the blame for lack of quality lies with Pearson, Clark and Smith

Hull FC haven’t made the Super League top six since the 2020 season and on yesterday’s performance it could be another year without playoff rugby league, and one fan noted how far the club had fallen.
Posting on X, they said: “Last minute win at home against the newly promoted, part-time club, truly abysmal how badly this club has fallen.”

That was echoed by another who asked: “Is this really where we are at? Celebrating a last-minute winning try against part-time opposition like we just won the GF. Just watched the worse game of rugby in a long time, could go on but really can’t be arsed.”

One even suggested that the game ‘felt like a loss’ which seemed to highlight the mood of many Hull FC fans.
I’m that disappointed, it feels like a loss.

It is still a win in the bank for Hull FC and it could mean that the pressure is off for next week when they take the daunting trip to the south of France to face Catalans Dragons.
