Leigh re-sign back row pair

Leigh have confirmed the re-signings of back rowers Jordan Thompson (above) and Ben Hellewell on one-year deals for 2021.

Thompson joined the club from Hull FC mid-way through last season and arrived with over 190 games of Super League experience having also had spells with Castleford and Leeds.

Scotland international Hellewell signed from London ahead of 2020 as an outside back but has impressed in the second row under John Duffy.

On the re-signings, Centurions head coach Duffy said: “Jordan has a lot of Super League experience and that shows on match days and also during the week in his preparations and approach.

“He brings that knowledge and raises the intensity levels with his professionalism and enthusiasm. He absolutely loves the club and being at Leigh.

“Ben had a great pre-season last year and started the campaign really well, forging a new role in the back row.

“Like so many others, he was going really well when the competition was halted. I’m looking forward to seeing him kick on and continue setting standards.”
