Leeds Rhinos star says “squad feels massive” and there’s “no falling out”

Leeds Rhinos skipper and star player Kruise Leeming has been impressed by the young players at the club in pre-season.

He believes they contribute to a strong squad where there is “no falling out” as he spoke to the club’s YouTube channel:

“Young lads have been brilliant, our squad feels massive but really tight knit. It’s good that we have 30 players vying for positions.

“They’re tight knit, there’s no bickering even with guys going for the same position, there’s no falling out.”

He also believes the culture is building at the club, largely due to this positive competition for places:

“Spirits are really high but yeah it is tough especially told in the cold on the 3G, it’s rock hard.

“It’s going well, the lads have come in with high spirits.

“I feel fit, I feel really fresh. I just can’t wait to get playing.

“The culture around the team is building. I think it is really important that for everyone who comes in that they understand the culture that we’ve got and the lads and the ethos around training is fantastic.”

As for himself, Leeming is enjoying his pre-season and getting fitter:

“I base my game on fitness, as a nine it’s really important. It’s fast pace and I have to make a lot of tackles and when there has been a break and be on the end of it.

“I’m wanting to get every little bit of fitness.”
