Leeds Rhinos receive massive boost

Leeds Rhinos have received a massive boost.

Rhinos star Mikolaj Oledzki has returned to training this week after surgery meant he would miss 12-14 weeks starting in pre-season.

Oledzki picked up an injury in Leeds’ play-off win over Catalans Dragons but his determination saw him remain in the side and guide them to Old Trafford.

He then could not turn down the opportunity to play for England in the Rugby League World Cup.

But then he required surgery. The prop has been Leeds’ Player of the Year the last two seasons and his return will be a massive boost though he still needs to get some training under his belt.

He said on the Rhinos’ YouTube channel:

“I’m very pleased, it has been frustrating sitting on the sidelines watching, it is a bit of a lonely place to be sometimes but I have had a good bunch of lads around me in rehab for the last few weeks and the physio and medical staff are awesome and they have got me where I am now and I can play a bit of rugby.

“This is the best I’ve felt since the surgery and we had a check-up with the surgeon last week and he was all happy.

“I’m ready to go now just need to get a week or two of training under my belt, some contact training and then I will be ready to go.”
