Leeds Rhinos head coach latest

Leeds Rhinos head coach situation has been clarified for the 2022 Super League season.

Richard Agar will remain as head coach for the 2022 Super League season the Leeds club has confirmed after being contacted by Serious About Rugby League, ending any speculation that any other outsider such as the likes of former Featherstone Rovers boss Ryan Carr would be anywhere near the role.

Agar has overseen a massive rebuilding project at Headingley in his two-and-a-half seasons so far in charge, taking the Rhinos from relegation candidates to Challenge Cup winners in 2020 and a stable play-off side ever since.

And, with the capture of Blake Austin and Aidan Sezer in the halves, as well as international winger David Fusitu’a and former St Helens back-rower James Bentley, Agar has an incredible plethora of talent to enjoy working with in 2022.

With the signing of Richard Hunwicks as head of performance, who was in charge of the same role at Grand Finalists Catalans Dragons in 2021, and the increasing reputation of assistant head coach Sean Long, the makings of the backroom staff is amongst the greatest in Super League.

Add into that an injury-free Jack Walker and yet another pre-season under the belt for youngsters like Morgan Gannon and Levi Edwards and the future is certainly rosy at Headingley.
