Leeds Rhinos had already been down 12 men at one stage when Blake Austin was sent to the sinbin in the first-half, but the West Yorkshire side were cut even further just before the hour.
That was because referee Jack Smith sent Aidan Sezer to the sinbin for a late tackle on Huddersfield GIants’ Theo Fages which was deemed ‘reckless’ by Smith.
The passage of play ended with Leroy Cudjoe going in at the corner after great attacking work from left to right which involved Fages, Tui Lolohea and Olly Russell.
That being said, Russell had failed with every conversion attempt as well as a penalty up until that point with eight points going begging for the Giants.
This is how both sides lined up before the game:
Leeds already had to reshuffle in the opening two minutes after Liam Sutcliffe was forced off with a knee injury as the returning Tom Briscoe touched terrafirma on game day for the first time in four months.
