Hull KR set for selection headaches as two key players return

Hull KR travel to Perpignan to take on top-of-the-table Catalans Dragons on Saturday night and they’ve been boosted by the return of two key players.

George King has recovered quicker than expected from his hamstring injury and will be available to play, a timely replacement after fellow prop Jesse Sue was banned for one match after the Challenge Cup win over Leigh Leopards.

Hull KR and Sue had appealed the Grade B charge of Dangerous Contact but they were unsuccessful meaning that the prop misses out, but King steps in to replace him.

Another key returnee and one that will provide a selection headache for Willie Peters is Oliver Gildart with the centre having recovered from a head knock sustained in the previous round of the Challenge Cup against Salford Red Devils.

Gildart was stretchered off in that game but he is now back meaning that Peters will have a decision to make between the Englishman and Australian centre Tom Opacic with Peta Hiku presumably nailed on to start.

Corey Hall drops out of the squad to make way for Goldart, whilst Catalans have seen Tom Johnstone return for Franck Maria but remain without star player Jordan Abdull.

Abdull was confirmed as having a hamstring injury, the same one that plagued his time at Hull KR, and that means he won’t play against his former club.
