Hull KR halfback cleared of biting

Hull KR halfback Jamie Ellis has been cleared of biting by the Match Review Panel.

Ellis was accused of biting Leeds Rhinos forward James Donaldson during their Challenge Cup defeat on Friday, and was placed on report by referee Liam Moore.

However, no club submitted any further evidence. The panel concluded: “Player is tackled by opponent and is face up on the ground.Opponent adjusts left hand from underneath player and places hand in the mouth of the Player.

“Footage does not demonstrate the Player making a biting motion. Pressure applied on thumb may be as a result of the downward pressure of opponent onto player.

“Player moves face away  from opponent. Club submit no additional evidence. No case to answer.”

Elsewhere, Huddersfield Giants forward Oliver Wilson and Hull FC forward Manu Ma’u were both charged for Dangerous Contact and a High Tackle respectively. Neither face bans.

Black and Whites forward Brad Fash was also cautioned over Dangerous Contact.
