It’s a bitter blow for the Yorkshireman who enjoyed a stellar season during 2021 as Hull KR made it all the way to the semi-final play-offs.
The 22-year-old limped out of last week’s game against Huddersfield Giants after slipping whilst backing up a break by halfback Jordan Abdull.
It was initially believed that Johnson would only require a period of rest – of about six weeks – for his broken foot, but he will now head for surgery instead.
