Hull FC’s Jake Connor to star in new Sky Sports program

Jake Connor is one of Super League’s most talented players – there is no doubt about that.

But, there is often a marmite appeal to the Hull FC star – people either love him or hate him.

This Friday night, however, there is a chance to get to know Connor in a capacity never seen before as Sky Sports launch a new program at 7pm.

The new program is labelled: ‘Super League: The Detail’, with the channel stating: “Jake ‘The Snake’ Connor joins Jon Wells at the touchscreen for an extended in-depth look at his playing style and persona – plus the future ambitions one of Super League’s biggest stars.”

The program will likely be heavily watched, given the fact that Hull play Wakefield Trinity live an hour later on the same channel.

Connor’s current on-field predicament will likely be touched upon, given the fact that the maverick has occupied the halfback, fullback and centre role for the Black and Whites in 2022.

With the signing of Jack Walker on loan from the Leeds Rhinos, Connor was pushed to halfback which seemed to backfire before being given a centre’s role.

That being said, Walker’s devastating injury sustained in the drubbing by St Helens is likely to give Connor the opportunity to once more stake his claim to the fullback shirt in a last ditch effort to impress both head coach Brett Hodgson and England national head coach Shaun Wane ahead of this year’s World Cup.

The Sky Sports program also said it will touch upon the future ambitions of Connor who, earlier this year, was linked with a move to NRL side Canberra Raiders.

That has since gone quiet with increasing murmurings linking him with a stay in East Yorkshire.

It’s brilliant to see the sport’s main benefactor put on programs such as this as viewers want to get to know rugby league players more personally.
