Huddersfield pair face lengthy injury layoff

Huddersfield forwards Paul Clough and Dale Ferguson are both set for periods on the side lines, Giants coach Simon Woolford has revealed to BBC Radio Leeds.

Clough, 31, is set to be out for a month with a broken hand, after only managing 13 games for the Giants this year after previous injuries.

Ferguson, also 31, has made just one appearance in 2019 after spending time on loan at Featherstone but was complaining of blurred vision following the loss to Wakefield two weeks ago, meaning he could be out for the rest of the season.

“Cloughy will be missing for four to six weeks,” Woolford said.

“Fergy’s unsure about what’s wrong. He’s still got symptoms, he’s seeing some kind of neurologist in the next little bit to find out what actually happened.

“I wouldn’t anticipate him being back and we’ll be lucky to see him again this year, he’s been through a traumatic couple of weeks.”
