Halifax favourite signs new contract

Welsh international prop Dan Fleming has signed a new contract to stay at Halifax.

The 27-year-old signed with his hometown club at the start of 2018 and has gone on to make 57 appearances for the club.

He has Super League experience, having played for Castleford for two years, as well as spells with Rochdale, Batley, York, Bradford, Oxford, Swinton and Toronto.

“I’m really happy to be staying at Halifax for another year, really enjoying my time at my hometown club”, said Fleming. “I’ve been made to feel welcome from day 1 so it was a really easy decision to make.”

“Recruitment has been brilliant so far, new faces around the squad. It freshens everyone up and keeps everybody on their toes. We’re gonna have to have a big pre season. We’ve got the same core of players that we’ve had the last two seasons but adding this fresh crop of players is only going to be better.

“Last season we got to the Challenge Cup semi finals which is probably the highlight of my time so far and then into the qualifiers the year before that. So hopefully we can build on that and get into the top 5 again.”
