Halifax confirm playmaker’s departure

As Halifax prepare for what they hope will be a big season in 2022, they’ve today confirmed the departure of scrum-half/hooker Connor Robinson.

The former Hull KR man returned to the Panthers ahead of the 2021 season having played for the Blue Sox back from 2015-17 before joining York City Knights.

He re-joined Halifax in September 2020 with plenty of hype after securing the League 1 Player of the Season award during York’s promotion winning campaign but things didn’t go according to plan for Robinson with the club today confirming on social media that he’ll be taking up a contract with a club outside the Championship in 2022.

Robinson himself reacted to the news on social media voicing his disappointment at 2021: “Sometimes things don’t go to plan, not my best year. Injury and Covid but onto the next one and hit the ground running with a big year but a great year for the memory bank. Thanks to everyone involved and good luck in the future.”
