2024 also marks a new area for the sport’s TV coverage. 2023 saw the expiry of a number of TV deals with Sky Sports, Channel 4 and Viaplay with BBC’s set to expire with the Challenge Cup in 2024.
In a groundbreaking move for the Sport, IMG, the RFL and RL Commercial agreed a new deal with Sky Sports. This was worth slightly less than the original deal but is still worth over £20 million. This is alongside the new streaming service SuperLeague+.
