Further update on Jack Croft after being stretchered off

After yesterday we hoped that we wouldn’t see a stretcher on a rugby field for some time but sadly we have seen it again return to the pitch a day later.

Jack Croft is the player this time set to be stretchered off the field.

It comes after a collision with Leigh Leopards winger Josh Charnley.

Croft, playing at centre today, has only just signed for the club once again after leaving the club at the end of last season.

Earlier there was an update from Sky Sports’ Jenna Brooks. She confirmed he is being assessed but that it is mostly precautionary.

She also stated that it was a head and neck issue.

Now a further update has come from Sky that he is conscious and talking but is headed to hospital.

The incident follows the worrying scenes we saw yesterday when James Batchelor was stretchered off.

James Batchelor didn’t moved after a tackle inside the Hull KR half.

Credit has to go to Chris Atkin for calling for support immediately.

Batchelor sadly ended up in an awkward position and didn’t move for some time with Willie Peters later revealing he had lost feeling in his body for a brief period.

Ambulance staff also came onto the field to help as they prepared to get him ready for the stretcher.

He was eventually stretchered off the field to a round of applause.

In an encouraging update from Sky Sports on Batchelor, it has been confirmed by Jon Wells that Batchelor was awake and talking by the time he left the field.

Hull KR meanwhile confirmed that he was conscious and on his way to hospital.

Later Jenna Brooks has confirmed his scans have come back clear at hospital and he is coming back to meet the club from hospital.
