Former St Helens star agrees contract with shock new club

Super League

After rumours linked him with moves to Wigan Warriors and Hull KR, former St Helens star Regan Grace has agreed a contract with Bath Rugby Union.

Grace has been training with Bath for some time after two nasty injuries and now the club have confirmed he has agreed a contract with the club and could feature in friendlies for the club in the near future.

This came as it was confirmed that three players recovering from injury have joined up with Bath Rugby as part of their rehabilitation process.

Regan Grace has joined up with the team at Farleigh House to continue his rehabilitation following an Achilles injury last year.

Former St Helens winger linked with Wigan and Hull KR

Grace had recently been linked with a move to both Wigan Warriors and Hull KR. The former Saints winger was linked with a move to Wigan whilst Hull KR denied the links.

He has made 143 appearances for Saints. After making the switch to rugby union, Regan joined Racing 92, but picked up an Achilles injury shortly before arriving at the French outfit.

The dual-code, Welsh winger is on a short-term contract with the club looking to return to full fitness in March.

Meanwhile, Jacques du Plessis of the Blue Bulls will also continue his rehabilitation under the care of Bath Rugby’s medical team.

The utility forward has made more than 100 appearances for Montpelier in the Top 14 and 37 appearances for the Bulls.

If Jacques’ return to fitness progresses well, Bath Rugby and the Bulls have agreed a provisional deal keeping Jacques at the club until the end of the current season.

Finally, Neil le Roux has also linked up with Bath Rugby to complete his rehabilitation at Farleigh House.

The former under-20 South African scrum-half joins from the Blue Bulls in the URC.

After agreeing this contract, Grace was named in Bath’s side for this weekend’s game.
