Former Leeds Rhinos forward Adam Cuthbertson launches own low calorie larger

Leeds Rhinos v Wakefield Trinity

There seems to be a growing trend at present with former or current rugby league players creating their own businesses or taking over places to make them their own.

Ex-Wakefield Trinity and current York City Knights forward Danny Kirmond is a landlord, new Featherstone Rovers signing Jesse Sene-Lefao now owns his own pub too, whilst multiple stars have gone into property – like former Wakefield Trinity winger Ben Jones-Bishop.

And, now ex-Leeds Rhinos forward Adam Cuthbertson has gone into the alcohol industry, bringing out his own low calorie lager called ‘LowCal’.

The LowCal website reveals that the drink “was designed and formulated right here in the UK in the city of Leeds by three blokes who wanted to take something traditional and add a modern-day twist to it.

Cuthbertson, 36, joined Rhinos ahead of the 2015 season and was a Man of Steel nominee that year when Leeds won the treble of the Challenge Cup, League Leaders’ Shield and Super League title.

The powerful Australian also enjoyed a stellar spell as coach of Rhinos’ women’s side, winning the Challenge Cup twice, League Leaders’ Shield and Grand Final.
