Exciting fixture the latest to be selected for TV coverage

Super League coverage

Widnes Vikings’ home game against Bradford Bulls has been changed to Monday 10 July (7:45pm kick-off).

The Round 19 fixture, which was originally scheduled for Sunday 9 July, has been pushed back to the following day due to being selected for live broadcast on Viaplay.

The previous meeting between the two sides saw the Bulls score a late try to snatch the win away from the Vikings at Odsal back in February.

Viaplay is showing two Challenge Cup games this week.

Tonight they are showing the clash between Super League Champions St Helens and Championship side Halifax Panthers.

Meanwhile, on Saturday they are showing Salford Red Devils’ clash with Huddersfield Giants as Ian Watson’s current side take on his former club.

Watson has taken both clubs to the Challenge Cup Final but is yet to deliver the trophy.

Viaplay are set to show half of the quarter-finals as well.

It is expected that one of the games will take place on Friday night and the other on Saturday evening as the road to Wembley hots up.

Viaplay’s TV deal with the sport expires at the end of this year and is part of a key talking point with IMG’s re-imagining.

The same can be said of Sky Sports and Channel 4.
