Ex-Salford Red Devils forward signs deal with Australian Grand Final-winning side

Former Salford Red Devils forward Ben Nakubuwai has signed a contract with the Norths Devils.

Nakubuwai, who turned out for Salford 40 times between 2018 and 2019, has been plying his trade in the Intrust Super Cup for the past two seasons after being released by the Lancashire club.

A try-scorer in the Intrust Super Cup Grand Final, Nakubuwai has etched a new deal.

The Devils posted this on their Instagram page: “Norths Devils premiership winner Ben Nakubuwai has re-signed with the Norths Devils for 2022! After spending the 2021 pre-season with the Brisbane Broncos, he scored an important try in our win over Burleigh in the preliminary final. Ben brings great experience to the squad, having previously played in the English Super League and also representing Fiji.”

Prior to his move to Salford, the Fijian international played two games for the Gold Coast Titans, but entrenched himself as a key player for Salford in his two-year stay in the UK.

Nakubuwai has also made ten appearances for Fiji and will be looking to earn a spot in the squad for the 2022 World Cup.
