Ex-NRL star Beau Ryan quits reality TV show

Former NRL star Beau Ryan has decided to quit reality TV show I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here just days before the show’s end.

Ryan shocked his fellow campmates by saying those words that allow him to leave: “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here.”

And speaking to Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa on-air this morning, Ryan revealed he had to make that stunning decision to leave because he “hated it.”

“I left at midnight on a Monday and then the last day was on the Friday. And they the final six would have had a Saturday together and flew back so it was four or five days,” he told them.

“It was torture… hated it.”

Ryan pinpointed the exact moment where he felt he could no longer participate in the TV show.

“They came down and said today is a no filming day so we‘re not actually using today… and that broke me. It really broke me,” he said.

“I felt really bad on myself. I was really upset with myself. At the end of the day, man, I couldn‘t get through it.”

Ryan made 104 appearances for the Wests Tigers between 2004 and 2012, scoring 46 tries before making the move to the Cronulla Sharks in 2012.

There he registered another 22 NRL appearances, scoring seven tries, but was forced to retire midway through the 2014 season due to a severe neck injury.
