England rugby league set to take part in divisive fixture in 2024

England

According to reports on France from Treize Mondial, like last year, a double-header will take place between France and England Rugby League, for both the men and women.

Toulouse will host this double-header on Saturday 29 June, which will be one of the key dates for the 90th anniversary celebrations of the FFR XIII, and which will be televised.

Last April, this programme took place in Warrington, and the proceedings were irrevocable with the same score on both sides, 62-0 in favour of England.

With the Super League on break that weekend, for this clash, all our weapons playing across the Channel should be available in order to stand up to the English, who are less and less willing to play us, because there are far too often wide scores, which does not help them to progress and then stand up to the Pacific nations.

For those who want to enjoy a weekend in Toulouse, the next day, there will be the Toulouse Olympique -Featherstone match, two teams aiming for promotion to the Super League, in the same stadium.

A good test for our teams in France, to know where they really are, and a great weekend of rugby league in perspective.

England’s end of season internationals are up in the air at present. They were supposed to take on Samoa but it was then revealed that Samoa had pulled out of these plans with the intention of playing in the Pacific Championships.

However, negotiations have recommenced giving hope that the internationals can again take place in 2024.

That said, it is understood that moving forward England may have to join the Pacific Championships to ensure meaningful international fixtures.

The Ashes however is indeed scheduled for 2025 and again after the World Cup which takes place in 2026.
