Elijah Taylor opens up on the horror pressure faced by Hull FC’s Josh Reynolds in the NRL

Salford Red Devils captain Elijah Taylor has taken Super League by storm after his move from the Wests Tigers ahead of the 2021 Super League season.

Taylor spent five years at the Tigers, registering 80 appearances and came into contact with current Hull FC halfback Josh Reynolds.

Reynolds spent three seasons at Concord with Wests, but faced incredible pressure from the media and Tigers fans to the point at which the Aussie halfback left for Hull in 2021.

And, Taylor has spoken about just how big the media pressure was on Reynolds.

“The pressure is a lot more back in the NRL, it’s the number one sport in Sydney, every night there is a show on Fox Sports,” Taylor said on the Out Of Your League podcast.

“Every game is televised and it’s in high demand so there is a lot of criticism.

“They were all after him. I remember one time we landed one time from Brisbane and we drove away in our cars from the car park and the police waited for Josh Reynolds’ car and then they flashed the lights.

“He couldn’t get away from it.”

Reynolds signed a two-year deal with the Black and Whites in East Yorkshire, but will be out of contract at the end of 2022.
