Dewsbury add Castleford youngster

Dewsbury Rams have announced the signing of highly rated winger Lewis Carr from Castleford Tigers for the 2021 season.

Carr rose through the Tigers academy system. He holds the record for the most tries scored in a single season, 39 in just 21 games.

He has been selected at international level and played for Yorkshire. As Carr joins the Rams, he will wear the number 27 shirt.

On signing the impressive youngster, head coach Lee Greenwood said: “Lewis has got the potential to be a really good player at Championship level. He is a fantastic finisher and has a natural try scoring ability.

“There are areas in his game that he needs to work hard at to be a success but we are willing to give him the opportunity to do that.

“He adds strong competition to our existing wingers and I know Lewis wants to force his way into the team. I’m looking forward to working with him.”
