Derek Beaumont shows his class with brilliant gesture

Derek Beaumont has shown his class with a brilliant gesture to a Wigan Warriors fan ahead of tonight’s clash between Beaumont’s Leigh Leopards and their local rivals.

Beaumont was contacted by a Wigan fan who had been told that he wouldn’t be allowed to bring his drum to the game tonight and Beaumont leapt into action saying:

“I have no idea why that would be and in what grounds as a club we have not imposed this and would be happy to allow. I have asked for an explanation and requested the decision is reversed in the absence of a genuine reason which I can’t see there being. Enjoy the game.”

Beaumont would later reveal that the problem was solved:

“So all sorted mis advice your allowed the drum in just can’t leave with the two points mate.”

This comes as Beaumont expects a big crowd for tonight’s game:

“I’ve had more texts today for a ticket in the North Stand than about a week of everything combined on my phone so I think a lot of people were trying change the habits here.

“I was speaking to Radz earlier and they’ve already got heavy sales for the game against St Helens after this game, because of the demand over history of that game.

“With ourselves people used to come in on the day and just buy a ticket, there’s never any real pressure of anything being sold out so for the North Stand to sell out the Saturday before a week of the game is significant.

“Wigan have almost sold their end out, we’re well into the West and East Stand so I’m fairly confident, well I’m pretty certain we’ll beat 9,012 but I’d love to see it with every seat taken.”
