Featherstone Rovers: Craig Hall provides update on money owed

Craig Hall has taken to social media to provide an update on the money owed to him by Featherstone Rovers.

He previously took to X, formerly Twitter,  to say that he hadn’t received money for his testimonial season, held in 2023.

He said: “It’s been almost 14 months since my testimonial game at Featherstone Rovers and I have still not received payment from the club.

“I have been given multiple dates promising payment, but each date that passes, I’m given a new message or simply ignored. Considering the game was back in January 2023, I’m extremely disappointed in the clubs effort to make any payment since then.

“I was first told, back in October 2023, the payment would be split over two months – those payments were never made. Since then, I have been given more and more dates, along with different reasons as to why payment hasn’t been made. I’ve been patient and understanding, but this is just not good enough!”

After this, he moved to Doncaster RLFC.

The club is in a poor financial position at the moment, after a few years of huge spending.

Featherstone Rovers Chairman Mark Campbell said recently: “I think all of our supporters need to know that for the last two years, we spent like a Super League Club to ensure we got promoted.

“We did this on £80k broadcast distribution per annum, not the £1.4M of our Super League counterparts and we did this to achieve Super League promotion before the IMG door was firmly shut this season.”

However, he also made a statement saying that almost all the owed payments from 2023 have already been paid, that Hall has been paid an initial fee, and that the club will fully resolve the issue in a couple of weeks.

Today, via his testimonial account, Craig Hall confirmed that he had received money, saying: “I would like to confirm that my testimonial game payment has now been paid in full.

“The sole intention of the post was to receive what I was owed.

“Club officials reached out and this has now happened, which I appreciate.

“Thanks for all the support over the 12 months!”

It appears that the saga has now ended.
