Chris Kendall takes Friday night TV clash whilst Liam Moore officiates game with massive playoff implications

Round 24 of Super League saw some massive results including the resurgence of Warrington Wolves who put up 66 against Castleford Tigers, whilst Leeds Rhinos just about clung on to their playoff hopes with a win and Wigan Warriors took over atop the Super League table.

It was a brilliant round of action that strangely enough saw one game take place over three days with floodlight failure at Leigh Sports Village causing chaos.

Friday night’s games saw Wigan and Hull KR do each other favours with the Warriors beating Salford Red Devils, whilst Rovers returned the favour by beating Catalans.

That saw Wigan jump atop the Super League table whilst Willie Peters’ side moved back into the playoffs ahead of Salford.

The other match that evening was abandoned after 48 minutes with Leigh leading Huddersfield 16-12, prompting the final 32 minutes to be played on Sunday in which Leigh would run out 34-16 victors.

Sunday also saw St Helens get over the line against Wakefield, who despite a loss did benefit from a points difference boost following Warrington’s hammering of Castleford on Saturday.

Saturday also saw Hull FC crash out of any playoff chances as Sam Lisone scored a hattrick for Leeds to keep them in the hunt, just.

This coming game week sees Wakefield host Catalans with both sides desperate for a win whilst Huddersfield know they must beat Hull KR as they hang on to even slimmer playoff hopes than Leeds.

A further two games are played on Friday with Leigh travelling to St Helens who are on a six game winning run, whilst Castleford will look to capitalise against a Hull side with nothing to play for.

The weekend sees Leeds host Wigan on Saturday before a huge clash in the race for the playoffs as Warrington travel to face Salford in a battle of seventh hosting fifth.

The match officials for these games have now been confirmed with Jack Smith taking the massive game between Leeds and Wigan on Saturday.

The other standalone game between Salford and Warrington will be overseen by Liam Moore, whilst Ben Thaler is the video ref for that game shown live on Channel 4.

Friday night’s televised game of St Helens hosting Leigh will be officiated by Chris Kendall, whilst Tom Grant takes charge of Huddersfield and Hull KR, Aaron Moore Trinity versus the Dragons and Ben Thaler officiates Cas against Hull.
