Catalans Dragons announce captain for the 2022 Super League season

Benjamin Garcia will lead the Dragons in 2022 having been appointed as captain of the club.

The French International, who took the captaincy role from Rémi Casty last year, will start his second season as club captain.

Garcia couldn’t hide his excitement at being appointed skipper: “I’m really proud to be named as the captain of this team, it’s a huge honour to represent the club.

“I grew up as a Dragons fan and always dreamt to captain this team so it’s very important for me. As last season, I’m ready to take on this role and lead by example, I really want to do well and win trophies with the club.

“I will give everything to give Steve’s and Club’s trust back as best as I can.”

Steve McNamara, Catalans Dragons head coach was always ready to hand Garcia the captaincy once more: “Benjamin did an incredible job both on and off the fiend last year as the captain and leader of the club.

“His incredible drive helped raise the standards of our organization in every area. I had no hesitation in keeping Ben within that role and look forward to seeing him grow even further within for years to come.”
