Castleford v Warrington: 21-man squads, injury update and TV details

Castleford and Warrington have both announced their 21-man squads for Saturday evening’s Challenge Cup semi-final at Leigh Sports Village (KO 5:00pm).

The Tigers will be aiming to reach Wembley for the first time since 2014 having scraped through the quarter-finals with a 19-18 golden point win over Salford.

They do, however, come into this weekend on the back of an embarrassing 60-6 defeat to Leeds in the league last week.

The Wolves, meanwhile, triumphed in the Cup in 2019 and are in excellent form with five wins from their last six games, including a 38-14 victory when these two sides last met two weeks ago.

The tie is made all the more interesting by the fact that Castleford head coach Daryl Powell, and three members of his backroom staff, will join Warrington at the end of this season.

The game will be available to watch live on BBC Two, with coverage starting from 4:30pm.

Castleford Tigers

Daryl Powell makes four changes after last week’s disappointment, with experienced quartet Niall Evalds, Gareth O’Brien, Adam Milner and Alex Foster returning from injury. They replace Danny Richardson, George Griffin, Greg Eden and Lewis Peachey. Grant Millington (knee) and Sosaia Feki (achilles) remain unavailable.

21-man squad: 1 Niall Evalds, 2 Derrell Olpherts, 3 Peter Mata’utia, 4 Michael Shenton, 6 Jake Trueman, 8 Liam Watts, 9 Paul McShane, 11 Oliver Holmes, 12 Cheyse Blair, 13 Adam Milner, 14 Nathan Massey, 17 Alex Foster, 18 Jacques O’Neill, 19 Tyla Hepi, 20 James Clare, 21 Jesse Sene-Lefao, 22 Daniel Smith, 24 Suaia Matagi, 25 Jordan Turner, 28 Brad Martin, 31 Gareth O’Brien.
