Cronulla Sharks halfback Matt Moylan’s future is up in the air after contract talks stalled with a rival NRL club said to be circling.
That club is Brisbane Broncos who are ready to step into the breach if Cronulla cannot come to an agreement with the halfback.
Moylan is holding out hopes for a two-year deal after starting the 2022 NRL season like a house on fire but his manager, Allan Gainey, is also aware of increasing interest in his client.
“Matt is the talk of the town in Cronulla about how well he is going,” Gainey said. “I believe the club would definitely want to keep him now that he is back to his best form.
“We’re hopeful they will front up with a two-year offer in the foreseeable future otherwise I’m sure there would be other interest in Matt, because of his experience.”
There has also been speculation that Moylan could become a recruit for the Dolphins if Cronulla don’t take action quickly with Dolphins head coach Wayne Bennett making it clear that he is a big fan of the halfback.
