Brett Hodgson gives honest view on Hull’s play-off chances

It’s safe to say that Hull FC were bitterly disappointing in their 42-14 thrashing by Salford Red Devils.

The loss made the Airlie Birds’ chances of making the play-offs even tougher, with Brett Hodgson’s men now having to rely on other results to increase their chances of qualifying.

And, Hodgson was frustrated with his side’s performance.

“What really disappointed me was that we capitulated in the last 20,” Hodgson said.

“We are all hurting at the moment – it was really disappointing.

“It’s definitely back to the drawing board, but we have got to find a way through that lack of confidence.

“It’s difficult to point out what exactly went wrong.

“We lacked resilience, which is something we’ve not lacked all season.”

Hull’s play-off chances have been given a knock back, with FC now sitting in eighth in the table, and Hodgson said his side must improve on this drubbing to get there.

“We are too far from where we need to be.

“While there’s a mathematical chance we have to make sure we win every game, but if we play like we played today we are not going to be there.”
