Bradford appoint vice-captain

Bradford Bulls have confirmed the appointment of Sam Hallas as the clubs new vice captain for the 2020 season.

The 23-year-old forward  signed back in 2017 and recently signed a new contract with the club. He will be the understudy to Steve Crossley.

Hallas told the club website: “I played with a lot of good, quality, experienced players and I have learnt a lot from them over the years even though I am only 23!

“Steve is a great captain and if I can help him anyway I can I will, it will be a mad feeling leading the side out and it is an honour to be the full-time vice captain of this group of players.”

Head Coach John Keer added:“We needed someone I feel in the circumstances this season who is tough, hardworking wholehearted and never gives up and if you summarise Sam Hallas that is what you’ve got,”

“I love his attitude, when he re-signed he said I am not here to fight relegation I want to get in the play-offs, I love that positivity, belief and desire.

“That is the reason he is vice-captain and that is the reason he will do a great job, he leads by example and pushes himself and I am delighted with him and Steve, who is continuing as captain for 2020.”
