Ben Hellewell’s farewell to Featherstone Rovers as he says he’s “sure” they will have “success”

For Featherstone Rovers it’s been two departure in two days. Ryley Jacks left yesterday and now Ben Hellewell has followed suit joining Salford Red Devils in 2023.

The former Leigh Leopards man spent a two week loan at the Red Devils in 2022 and clearly made an impression.

However, Featherstone has clearly made an impression on him with him issuing a lovely farewell message.

He said: “I’d like to thank everybody at the club for making my time an enjoyable one. The group of players there have a special bond not only on the field but off it too and I’m sure that will lead them to success in the near future.

“I would also like to thank the fans that turned up in numbers week in week out and are the most passionate I’ve ever come across.

“I’d like to wish everyone at the club the best of luck and I feel like I have truly made friends for life.”

Meanwhile Featherstone said: “Featherstone Rovers can confirm that Ben Hellewell will leave the club to take up and opportunity in Super League with Salford Red Devils for 2023.

“All the best for the future, Ben.”

The Rovers have brought in the likes of Mathieu Cozza and Chris Hankinson, formerly of the Wigan Warriors, for the 2023 as they prepare for a new era under ex-Leeds Rhinos boss Sean Long.
