Talk of John Bateman’s future had quietened, leaving some to believe an extension was on the table from current club Wigan Warriors, but it seems the star back-rower has agreed terms with Australian club Canberra Raiders.
Bateman would be following in the footsteps of international teammate and fellow second row forward, Elliot Whitehead, with a move to the raiders.
It is believe Wigan were keen to keep hold of Bateman’s services and a possible marquee move could be made but if reports are to be believed Bateman has already decided his future.
It remains to be seen which of the two is the correct choice for the Super League sensation.
