Last week saw some brilliant action on our screens, and this week will be no different as 11 games are booked in for us to feast on this week. There’s plenty of action in Australia to entertain us, however all eyes will be on Wembley on Saturday as we see the Men’s and Women’s Challenge Cup Finals, as well as the 1895 Cup Final. It promises to be a belting weekend of Rugby League action.
Here is where you can catch all 11 games this week:
Friday
Cronulla Sharks v Gold Coast Titans-9:00am Sky Sports Arena
Brisbane Broncos v Penrith Panthers-11:00am Sky Sports Arena
With no Super League this week, the NRL holds down the fort for Rugby League on Friday morning. Kruise Leeming’s Gold Coast Titans face Cronulla. The Titans currently sit in 13th in the table, but a win would see them move just four points behind their opponents and give them a chance at making the finals. The second game of the morning is a battle at the top, as the Broncos take on the reigning NRL Premiers Penrith. Both teams sit on 36 points, and this game would allow the victor to gain some breathing room at the summit of the NRL ladder.
Saturday
NRLW: St George Illawarra v Canberra Raiders-2:05am Sky Sports Main Event
NRLW: North Queensland v Wests Tigers-3:50am Sky Sports Main Event
NRLW: Brisbane Broncos v Parramatta Eels-6:10am Sky Sports Main Event
Sydney Roosters v The Dolphins-10:35am Sky Sports Action
St Helens Women v Leeds Rhinos Women-11:50am BBC Two
Leigh Leopards vs Hull Kingston Rovers- 3:00pm BBC One
Batley Bulldogs vs Halifax Panthers-5:30pm Our League
The NRLW will wet the appetite for Saturday’s bumper day of Rugby League with three fantastic games in the early hours. Later on in the morning, the Roosters take on the Dolphins in the men’s competition, as both teams look to make a late charge for the finals; however our focus in the UK is on Wembley. The Women kick off the triple header as St Helens take on Leeds Rhinos in a repeat of last season’s Women’s Challenge Cup Final; which saw the Saints claim victory. Could we see a repeat of this at Wembley? They are swiftly followed by the Men, as Leigh Leopards and Hull KR face each other to get their hands on the famous Challenge Cup trophy. The teams have already faced each other twice this season, with Leigh getting the upper hand on both occasions; however form goes out the window in a cup final. They have both been fantastic this season, and we should be in for a real cracker at Wembley. The day in the Capital is then rounded off with the 1895 Cup Final between Batley and Halifax.
Sunday
Cronulla Sharks vs Sydney Roosters NRLW-3:00am Sky Sports Arena
Newcastle Knights v Gold Coast Titans NRLW- 4:50am Sky Sports Arena
To wrap off another brilliant weekend of Rugby League, the NRLW provides two more treats. First the Sharks take on the Roosters, and then the Knights take on the Titans.
