Agar blasts “woeful” Rhinos

Richard Agar’s Leeds side went down 26-6 to Hull KR and the head coach could not have been more frustrated.

“I’m majorly disappointed; I thought our start to the game was woeful – we dropped a ball in our first set, had a ball stolen, put them down their end and gave a penalty away for taking Ryan Hall out in the air in the first seven minutes of the game,” Agar said.

“I thought our application and execution was poor. We’ve done it tough for a few weeks and I felt it was a really flat and energy-less performance from us tonight.

“We had a number of players that ripped in and tried to haul it back for us, but too many players were off the pace.”

Agar admitted his side needs to take responsibility and that some of his players should face up to what they dished up this week.

“We’ve got some players that need to have a long, hard look at themselves; we’ve played some kids in the past few weeks and they’ve given us energy and determination in abundance.

“But, we’ve got some guys at this moment in time that are short of where they need to be.

“We’ve not had a lot of continuity in our line up or our spine – we had four or five blokes coming back from injury, but the reality is those guys are underdone of where thy need to be.

“I’m not using that as a cop out though, we all need to take responsibility for next week.”
