Adrian Lam on new season challenges

Wigan Warriors Head Coach Adrian Lam has said his side are adjusting week-on-week to the challenges of the new Super League season.

After playing their first two matches at neutral venues, matches will now be played at the home team’s ground going forward.

Lam says this gives him cause for excitement, particularly with Wigan’s first home match of the season coming up next week. It will just be their second game at home since the start of the pandemic.

He said: “The competition is changing it all the time. We have our first home game in two weeks against Castleford. It’s a week-to-week proposition for us to sort out.

“Having the third round of the Challenge Cup just three games into the season threw us around as well. There have been challenges everywhere.

“Every coach has had to handle it differently, and we are no exception.

“We’ve got three Thursday games in a row now, so we need to get our heads around that. But it’s exciting because it’s different every week.”
