Super League

Every rugby league match you can watch live on TV this week

After a mixture of international and club rugby hit our screens last weekend, this week sees rugby league return to the status quo. There’s not just one but two rounds of Super League matches headed our way in the next seven days as the season hots up. So, here’s every game you can watch live this week.

Wednesday:

19:30 Sky Sports Arena – Wigan Warriors v Warrington Wolves

It’s one of the biggest games of any season as two Lancashire rivals with designs on success go toe-to-toe. However, recent form adds extra intrigue to this one. Wigan – despite going the first seven games unbeaten – have lost the last three and are in real danger of slipping far behind the Wolves who, after Challenge Cup heartbreak in the semis, seem red hot having beaten Champions St Helens recently. This one will test both Warrington’s and Wigan’s title credentials for sure.

Thursday:

10:45 Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Arena – Sydney Roosters v Melbourne Storm

Speaking of rivalries compounded by a mutual desire to achieve success, the NRL’s two most dominant teams over the last five years do battle on Thursday. The 2020 Champions take on the 2019 winners in a repeat of the 2018 decider as both teams gear up towards the end of the season as State of Origin begins to sink into the background following New South Wales’ win in Game II on Sunday.

Friday:

10:50 Sky Sports Arena – Penrith Panthers v Paramatta Eels

The big matches just keep on coming. On Friday the previously unbeaten Penrith take on rivals Paramatta in a titanic battle between second and third in the table. Penrith are still many people’s tip for glory at the end of the season, but the Eels will fancy their chances and could underline their title hopes with a win.

Saturday:

8:25 Sky Sports Arena – Canberra Raiders v Gold Coast Titans

Things haven’t gone to plan recently for these two teams. Canberra had to endure the George Williams saga and a run of bad form whilst Titans coach Justin Holbrook came down on his team after a woeful second half against Manly last time out. Both teams need a win to rekindle their play-off hopes.

Sunday:

19:00 Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Arena – St Helens v Wigan Warriors

How do you go bigger than Wigan v Warrington? St Helens v Wigan should do the trick. The biggest rivalry in British rugby league and a repeat of last year’s superb Grand Final, this game already has massive stakes. But what makes this tussle even bigger is the fact neither side go into this week top of the league meaning both need a victory to improve their chances of snatching top spot from Catalans. This could very well be the biggest week in Adrian Lam’s time as Wigan coach with two massive games against rivals and a chance to turn their season around.

Monday

19:30 Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Arena, Sky Sports Mix – Warrington Wolves v Leeds Rhinos

The seven days of big games concludes with another huge Super League fixture as two former Grand Finalists do battle. Based on recent performances this could be an entertaining one too. Warrington are the league’s top scorers but in their last two outings Leeds’ attack has finally clicked and they’ve racked up 98 points. Both sides will need a win to improve their play-off hopes so it might just be one of the games of the season so far especially when you add in the subplot that these two teams are said to be jostling for George Williams’ signature in the background.
