Two Super League clubs set to allow players to leave on loan

There are two Super League clubs who look set to allow players to leave on loan in the very near future for the player’s own benefit.

One of those is Leeds Rhinos who look likely to give Kieran Hudson a stint in the Championship after he signed from Super League rivals Castleford Tigers.

Hudson arrived at the club with an achilles injury and Rohan Smith has suggested that he could have a small stint in the Championship to get him up to speed.

Speaking on Hudson, Smith said: “After that one appearance against Hunslet he went into what was like a mini pre-season. He’s been training really hard to get ready to play reserves against Leigh Leopards.

“Then we’ll get him ready for Super League or maybe a stint in the Championship.”

This came before Smith confirmed that he would begin considering to send players to Halifax Panthers on dual registration.

Super League rivals also set to loan out player

This comes with Super League rivals Huddersfield Giants likely to send Jake Bibby out on loan so that he can find some game time.

This came after Ian Watson was asked about the prospect of a move to Hull FC. Watson addressed Bibby’s future saying: “Not had anything from that mate, I don’t know about that one, nobody’s asked about Jake or no-one’s come to me and asked me about Jake anyway.

“Jake’s been head down trying to work hard, he’s focused, he’s trying to play for Huddersfield. He signed a contract for Huddersfield Giants and he’s more than happy with it, but obviously like most players they want to play at some point and they want to get game time.

“He’ll play this weekend for our reserves to get a little bit of a game but sometimes you’ve got to look at the quality and the level of player that you’re dealing with and Super League is the level that Jake deserves to be playing at.

“In order to get him right and get him up to speed for when he does come in and play for us we’re going to probably have to look at something like that in probably not the too distant future to be fair.”
