Three Super League clubs set for major immediate signings

A number of Super League clubs are looking for new recruits even though the season is only a matter of weeks old.

This is largely due to injuries and suspensions that have been arising in the early part of the Super League season which has made the transfer market far more active than it usually is at this time of season.

It was highlighted by Castleford Tigers Head Coach Craig Lingard spoke about these kind of transfers arising previously and this seems to be emerging earlier than the six week mark that Lingard noted.

We have already seen clubs like Leigh Leopards and Hull FC make these moves bringing in the likes of Brad Dwyer, Matty Russell and Joe Bullock in from Warrington Wolves.

London Broncos

It was a reality check for London Broncos last week and round two could be another tough test.

The London Broncos have been hit worse than most by injuries at the start of the season. The London Broncos have lost Bill Leyland for the entire Super League season among others for lengthy injuries.

They have already been exploring their options in the transfer market and have reportedly made a move for Huddersfield Giants forward Fenton Rogers on loan in a short term deal akin to Brad Dwyer’s move to Leigh Leopards to cover for the injured Edwin Ipape.

Salford Red Devils

Super League stars Ryan Brierley and Kallum Watkins

The Salford Red Devils have been open about wanting to bring in more bodies starting the season with a squad of 24 after the departures of Ken Sio, Joe Burgess, Brodie Croft, Andy Ackers and Alex Gerrard.

They have already snapped up David Nofoaluma from Wests Tigers after his controversial exit from the club at the end of the 2023 season but they are still keen on adding more bodies to their squad but have no more quota spots left.

Leeds Rhinos

Leeds Rhinos were clear that they had more or less settled on their squad at the start of the Super League season.

However, Rohan Smith admitted during the season launch that the Rhinos had some salary cap space to utilise as the season unfolded with many fans hoping to see the club sign a prop.

According to Leeds Live, Leeds are set to sign Dan Okoro from the Bradford Bulls to bolster their pack.
