Super League starlet makes immediate loan move

One of the most exciting youngsters in Super League has made an immediate loan move to the Championship.

Phoenix Laulu-Togaga’e is the man in question and the Hull KR youngster has joined Keighley Cougars on an initial two week loan.

According to Keighley it could be extended to a year.

Director of Rugby Jake Webster said:

“We’ve been after securing PLT on a more permanent basis for some time and I am pleased we got this done. We are still looking to strengthen the squad going into the back end of the season.”

The Robins recently ended a dual registration agreement with the club.

The fullback was initially signed from the Cougars and signed a long term extension deal with the Robins back in January.

“This year, pre-season has been really challenging in a good way,” said Laulu-Togaga’e at the time.

“I’ve learned more than I’ve ever learned in such a small amount of time.

“It’s definitely stepped up from last year. The higher intensity has helped the boys and me a lot, not only skill-wise but fitness-wise too.

“As a young player, I try to soak up as much as I can from the experienced boys. Having players like Cootie around me in my position and coaches who have played in the halves like Willie (Peters) and Danny (McGuire) is great. I’m excited for what the future holds.”
