Super League star could be set for sensational NRL move

This week Blake Austin is set to take on his former club.

The Leeds Rhinos halfback will be taking on the club who brought him to England in the place back in 2019 in the shape of Warrington Wolves.

The halfback left Warrington for Leeds Rhinos at the end of the 2021 season taking on the number six shirt helping take the Rhinos to Old Trafford in 2022.

Despite losing, though he did nail a brilliant 40/20 in the final, he vowed to win at Old Trafford during his career.

Austin has been in great form in 2023 with 15 assists this season and he notched two sensational assists against Huddersfield Giants last week.

Granted he struggled against Wakefield Trinity the game before in the story of his season.

That is because Austin has been inconsistent in 2023 though he was brilliant in games against St Helens and Catalans Dragons.

That said, according to Leeds Live, Austin could be headed to pastures new in Super League with the halfback talking to Super League clubs after not agreeing a deal with the club.

Following this, Zero Tackle in Australia has reported that Austin could return home.

They have said that Austin could join a team in the NRL.

Austin left the NRL at the end of 2018 when he left Canberra Raiders for the Warrington Wolves.

The halfback, alongside his future Leeds Rhinos teammate Aidan Sezer, had done a terrific job in getting the Raiders to finish in the top four in 2016.

Austin ironically turned down a move a to Leeds in 2019 in favour of joining the Wolves where he was one of the league’s top try scorers.

He arguably would have won the Man of Steel in 2019 until he got injured.

Eventually after three seasons at the Halliwell Jones he joined Leeds.

He is in excellent form racking up the assists.
