Super League and NRL veteran attracting interest following exit

Patrick Ah Van has been released by North Wales Crusaders after a short spell at the club.

The Welsh side had snapped up the former Super League and NRL winger for the 2021 League 1 season, but both sides came to a mutual agreement that Ah Van would leave.

After breaking into the senior team at NRL club New Zealand Warriors, Ah Van made the journey to Super League with Bradford Bulls, playing a solitary season in Yorkshire.

The imposing winger played 28 times for the Bulls, scoring 12 tries and kicking 97 goals.

The 33-year-old then switched to Widnes Vikings, where he made the vast majority of his 123 appearances at the top level, scoring an impressive 95 tries in the process as well as an extra 73 goals.

Ah Van also has representative honours, earning caps for Samoa, and has more recently been on the books at French club Villegailhenc-Aragon.

It’s fair to say, Ah Van’s experience could be much needed for a side desperate for promotion in either League 1 or the Championship, so he isn’t short of suitors.
