Lam glad to welcome back experience

Wigan Warriors Head Coach Adrian Lam has welcomes back the experience of certain players ahead of their match against Salford Red Devils.

The Warriors have welcomed back some of their key players into their 21-man-squad, such as Oliver Gildart, Joe Burgess and George Burgess.

Whilst praising some of his fringe players for the job they have done, Lam says he looks forward to finding the right balance with the side over the coming weeks.

He said: “I’m really excited we have this selection of players. We haven’t been in this position since lockdown. The players we have had have done a good job, but it is good to have experience back.

“There is no substitute for experience. Its not something we have had at any point this year. We hope to find that right balance between youth and experience over the next five weeks.

“There will be a few more twists and turns between now and the end of the season. We look forward to the challenge.”

Lam also confirmed Sean O’Loughlin will miss the game because of a hamstring strain, while George Burgess will be assessed later today.

He added: “O’Loughlin has a hamstring strain and will be out for the next one-to-There will be a few more twists and turns between now and the end of the season. We look forward to the challenge.two weeks.

“George Burgess is very close to playing. We will make a decision on game day, but it will be in the next week or so. He is a popular member of the squad, he is working really hard to get back.”
