Jack Broadbent joins Hull KR in swap deal as two players head to Castleford Tigers

Hull KR have signed Jack Broadbent on an initial season-long loan, with the utility back then to join Rovers permanently on a three-year deal.

The deal will see two Hull KR players, Corey Hall and Louis Senior, head in the opposite direction on loan deals until the end of the season, with Senior extending his loan at the Jungle having joined the Fords on loan last week.

Broadbent has enjoyed an impressive season so far and has been one of the standouts in a struggling Castleford team. He joins the Robins after catching the eye of head coach Willie Peters.

Speaking on signing former Leeds Rhinos and Featherstone Rovers back Broadbent, Peters said: “Jack’s a talented player with his best years still ahead of him. I’ve watched Jack a lot over the last couple of years and he’s certainly a player who can play many positions with real quality which definitely appeals to us.

“Jack’s main strength are his running game along with his ability to play what he sees, we’re looking forward to adding those qualities to our team. From all reports, Jack is a quality person and a popular figure in the dressing room.

“We look forward to developing Jack into the player we believe he can be, which is exciting for Jack and everyone at the club.”

Hall and Senior head to Castleford on loan

In return, Castleford will get former Wakefield man Hall and current loanee Senior until the end of the season, as Craig Lingard continues to put his stamp on the Tigers squad.

Director of Rugby Operations at Castleford Tigers, Danny Wilson, explained why they decided to go ahead with the deal and bring the duo to Wheldon Road.

“Corey is a great player! He’s had loads of talent as a young kid and has proven it in Super league. He can be an exciting centre, so to add him to the squad in that position he can give us some strike and make our back 5 more exciting.

“We say about a certain type player that we want to bring in at Cas, people that want to prove themselves in Super League and who are very athletic. He ticks all those boxes. The fans got a taste of what he could do at Wigan. His first appearance for us and he goes 80 metres. Very exciting to have him here and he’s got some competition with his brother and Qareqare on the way to being back fit again. We’ve got some fast players on our wings to score tries,” added Wilson.
