Hull FC centre joins new club ahead of big 2024

Hull FC captain Danny Houghton

Hunslet RLFC boss Dean Muir has swooped to sign former Hull FC and London Broncos centre Jude Ferreira.

The 22 year old came up through the ranks at Hull FC before having a season at London Broncos which he said was a great experience.

Ferreira was also called into the provisional Welsh squad in 2022 qualifying through his grandfather.

“Jude is an exciting signing who brings real threat to the edge. He has been in good systems and has developed good skills.

“He played for Wales this summer and is a player who hasn’t yet reached his potential. It will be great to see him develop within our system” said Muir.

Ferreira may be the man to ignite passion in the Hunslet faithful. With other League One clubs getting the headlines maybe The Parksiders are bubbling below the radar and as pre-season training begins top level experience brought by players such as Ferreira may rub off on his team mates.

Hunslet have also signed two more wingers for 2024 with Ben Sheils and Donald Kudangirana joining Dean Muir’s squad.

20 year old Sheils is a former Saddleworth Rangers ARLFC player and England Community Lions international and has spent time at Leeds Rhinos and Sheffield Eagles.

Head Coach Dean Muir said “Ben is a young winger who is blessed with speed, he has been at Sheffield for a couple of years but is looking to compete to play regular rugby”.

Kudangirana is a former London Skolars and Dewsbury man of Zimbabwean origin.

The 28 year old will join Muir’s 30 strong squad for pre-season training hoping to impress in a team looking stronger by the day.

Lastly, Hunslet have welcomed back former Keighley, Oldham and Dewsbury forward Jack Coventry for 2024.

The 29 year old prop forward has played at Hunslet before and was pleased to see some of the fittings are still in place, namely his mate Jimmy Watson still manning the full-back berth.

Jack’s experience could help Dean Muir’s side against some of his former clubs and the former Castleford Panthers man adds more go forward to the pack.

It’s been five years since Jack pulled on the Myrtle, White and Flame and fans will be hoping he can add to a team that will be pushing for the play-offs in 2024.
