Huge Super League fixture to be moved

The football season is currently on a break but when it returns it often grabs a lot of attention.

Last week the SkyBet Championship fixtures were released which threatened to create a problem for some Super League clubs.

Two Hull City fixtures are scheduled the same day as Hull FC clashes and the Black and Whites games could be moved to accommodate or vice versa.

Wigan Warriors are safe with Wigan Athletic’s fixtures but Huddersfield Giants have been forced to move one fixture, a very big fixture as well.

The Giants have confirm that our home clash vs Leeds Rhinos has been moved to Sunday 27th August.

This move was unavoidable, due to Huddersfield Town facing Norwich City at home on the Saturday, and therefore our game has been moved to the Sunday.

We hope that this move will still allow all ticket holders to attend the match, and allow more people who cannot make Friday evenings to enjoy a family day out at the John Smith’s Stadium for derby day.

Ticket prices will stay the same, with more giveaways and offers to come throughout the coming months, to allow everyone to attend the most affordable Super League game in 2023.

All tickets and Season Cards will be valid for the rearranged time and date, and your original ticket will grant you access to the fixture, there is no need to swap or change your ticket.

With plenty of other clubs this season, such as Wigan Warriors breaking their current Betfred Super League record, the Huddersfield are targeting to break theirs that currently stands at 15,629, when they welcome Leeds for this fixture.

This Marketing Campaign will be the largest ever attempted by the Giants, and they hope they can count on the support of the Rugby League family, press and fans alike to support our goal.

They have slashed prices for this clash, starting from £5 and ending at £15, the cheapest value in Super League, this offer has also been extended to Leeds Rhinos supporters.

Over the next few months, the club are committed to going out and paing the town Claret and Gold, as they look to reach a new audience in Huddersfield and stir up the frenzy for the birthplace of Rugby League.

An early selection of things they will be doing to support this early on includes, offers for all Huddersfield Businesses, offers for Charities, reaching out into the town centre with advertising and marketing material and slashing kids prices to just £1 everywhere in the stadium.

Media & Marketing Officer Lucas Cockshott commented on the target.

“As am ambitious club that wants to grow it’s fanbase, we realise that during the current climate, not everyone can afford to spend on a Season Card, that’s why for one special Derby Day, we’ve ensured everyone can afford to be at this game, to feel part of the Giants family.”
